5k training program in Grand Rapids

RunFit is a couch to 5k training program for beginners or even those who are intermediate runners that want to improve their time. The next installment of the program starts March 17th in Comstock Park.

Participants will take part in a weekly group run, we’ll have education on various topics plus you’ll have access to a physical therapist and exercise specialist. At the end of the program, participants will run the Amway Riverbank Run together.

Gina Otterbein and Skylar Swifink stopped by the eightWest studios to talk with Rachael Ruiz and WOOD TV viewers about what a fun and beneficial program RunFit is.

Watch the segment below.

RunFit is more than just a group run. At this 5k training program we’ll have weekly educational sessions on proper stretching, running form, and nutrition. Plus, you have weekly access to a physical therapist and exercise specialist. This program is ideal for beginners because the atmosphere is welcoming, there’s no judgement and everyone is very supportive. However, it also caters to intermediate runners who want to improve their time; as well as people who are looking for a fun way to get in shape and lose weight. At the end of the session our group will run a 5k together.
