FEELING GOOD

I didnt feel as hopeless after I came to you. You listened to me in order to figure out what we needed to do to get me better. The research and education helped me be more independent. I am so pleased with the service I received.

Coming soon: NPT to offer online store

Keep it offNPT will soon launch a new online store where patients can order therapy-related equipment and supplies online and have them shipped directly to their homes. Visitors to the site will have the opportunity to browse through a full range of products, each with a photo and description, right from the comfort of their own homes. The site can also serve as a resource for friends and family of patients. Often our patients will share their stories of the success of certain products, but have no way of telling them where to find them.

April is National Occupational Therapy Month!

Occupational therapy enables people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, prevent—or live better with—injury, illness, or disability. It is a practice deeply rooted in science and is evidence-based, meaning that the plan designed for each individual is supported by data, experience, and “best practices” that have been developed and proven over time.

Therapy supplies and adaptive equipment play an important role in patients’ success

Adaptive equipment allows people the opportunity to perform everyday activities more comfortably, while also saving energy and increasing independence. Adaptive equipment can be used for various diagnoses including: arthritis, stroke, bone fractures, joint replacements, stroke, back pain and injuries, fibromyalgia, lupus, and much more.

NPT People Profile: Lyn Jansen, Occupational Therapist

Lyn JansenWhat I enjoy most about my job is the variety. I travel to all five locations to treat clients of all ages and conditions including Functional Capacity Assessments at the Coopersville location, and on-site ergonomic services at industries and work places within all of the Northern communities. Even after 26 years working as an Occupational Therapist, I find that each day at Northern presents new challenges and opportunities for growth. I appreciate Northern’s client-centered approach, and I enjoy helping each client meet their personal goals.
